Your privacy is important to us. We take it very seriously, which is why at this very moment, as you read this privacy policy, we do not know who you are. How Seriously you might ask? So  seriously that we probably care about your privacy as much as you do…we’re just sayin’  Oh yeah, and just to let you know, by using our website you are agreeing to these policies, and you are agreeing to provide us with some of your personal information. 

I know, right now you’re probably thinking “WHAT?! They just said they cared about our privacy, but now they’re tracking us?! What kind of malarkey is this?”  Well, we care about your privacy, but we care about your restoring your home after a disaster more…so yeah, if you fill out a form with your name on it, and your address, and your email, and phone number…well, we’re going to collect that data and…We’re going to call you back! It’s kind of scary how fast we call you back and can be on site. We take a lot of pride in our commitment to a fast response time.

I mean, we know it’s kind of creepy that we’re sitting around, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year waiting for you to call, but it’s even creepier that if you ask us to come over, we’ll be on site within about an hour. But hey, that’s the price you pay for super reliable service and a job well done. We may even share some of your personal information with your insurance company.  We don’t like to kiss and tell, but we do like to make sure that you get fairly compensated for your loss, so long as you have insurance coverage and the incident is covered. 

Just to let you know, we do like to figure out how you found our website, this allows us to know which avenues of marketing and advertising are doing the best for us and, in turn, this helps us keep our costs lower. So, we promise, we will look at your data, unless you tell us not to, then we’ll stop to the best of our ability.In trying to figure out how you found us, we may track your calls in, but this also is what allows us to monitor how our employees are doing and hey, we’re always trying to be the best at what we do. Below you have some more reading to do, but you can also opt in or out of our data collection and third party information on the website. We should warn you, opting out may or may not impact the performance of the website, sorry bout that!

Different states and countries have different laws. We’re well aware that the EU has pretty strict privacy laws, but let’s be completely honest, if you’re living in the EU and on our website, we really aren’t trying to track your data. In fact, we’re probably trying to filter it out, but this new Google Analytics 4 is kind of hard to get the hang of, seriously, you can ask our web guy, he’s pretty smart and even he’s having trouble with it. Anyway, back to the point at hand, there may be different laws giving you additional rights, based on where you live. We have created an iron-clad privacy policy that complies fully with every jurisdiction in which we operate. Our Commitment To Children’s Privacy

It’s important for us to protect the privacy of the very young, for that reason, our website will never collect or maintain information on our website from minors…unless they fill out one of our forms. If they do, and we are made aware that the contact form was submitted by a child, we will delete the form. But we have bigger questions, why is your kid on a water damage restoration website? What made them fill our a form here? There are a lot better places on the internet for a child to be, and while we’re not questioning your parenting abilities, we’re just kinda scratching our heads…kids do the strangest things. Anyway, we don’t cater to minors, and we won’t, if your child has been on our site and submitted a contact form, please let us know and we’ll remove it.

Google Analytics

Fine-restoration uses Google Analytics to help analyze how users use the site. The tool uses “cookies,” which contrary to popular belief are not delicious snack cakes for all to enjoy. No, they are text files that are placed on your computer to collect information about who you are, how you got here, what you did on our website, and all that fun stuff. The cookie on the website has your IP address and we anonymize it, but it does let us know around the geographic region you came from, unless you’re using a VPN and honestly, while yeah, most VPNs are trackable, who has time for all that…err I mean, we care about your privacy.

We will never (and will not allow any third party to) use the statistical analytics tool to track or to collect any Personally Identifiable Information of visitors to our site. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. Neither we nor Google will link, or seek to link, an IP address with the identity of a computer user. Honestly, we found this privacy policy somewhere, we don’t know what Google does with your data, but they promise they don’t do anything bad.

We promise, we’re not in the business of selling your data. This is in large part because we don’t know who wants to buy it or how much it’s worth, but if you want to give us a lot of money for our data, we could be willing to sit down..Clearly, we’re kidding, but. if you or anyone you know would like to buy data we might always our privacy policy Seriously though, we wont ever sell your data nor link you to anything other than providing fantastic disaster restoration, quickly, and professionally. That’s literally the only reason we actually care about your data.

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above. Also, our web guy wants you to know that it makes his job, of tracking where you came from super hard..he’s a pretty nice guy, so maybe consent to cookies, for him, or don’t, because we lied about him being a nice guy earlier. If you’re interested, we can all plan a time to really mess with our webmaster, anyone else want in on this?

Other Collection of Personal Information

At times, you will be fully aware of information received, as you are the direct source providing it. For instance, you may comment on a blog post, reply to an email (whether broadcast message or autoresponder), provide an email address, complete a survey, requests SMS, or otherwise. Refusing to provide some of this information may lead to us being unable to provide you with the products or services you’ve requested. That being said, if you comment on our blog, or buy something from our website, we’re gonna be super confused. We’re not an ecommerce site and we have comments turned off. How did you leave one and what did you buy? We would pay for that data.

A prime example of limited access to our website is where content may be protected by a username and password. Most of that content is you know, where we publish whets on our website, in the backend of WordPress..why did you enter your user name and password, you don’t work for us, or manage our website. Hey, we’re on to you…we’ve got your data, which now we’re tracking because, don’t hack our website please!

Whether a username and password is generated by our website, or created by you, these will almost always be connected with some other information related to or connected with you. This is true since much content that is protected on the internet is subscription based, often paid for. Thus, the username and password must necessarily be tied to your other account data. Usernames and passwords, by their very nature, should be kept private.

Handling of Personal Information

Note that any personal information you provide to others apart from us or our vendors is wholly optional. As an example, you might disclose something in a blog post comment. That “private” information is now “public,” and we have no control over that. In like fashion, you sharing information with any other third party not functioning as a service provider to us puts that information beyond our control and becomes subject to the policy that party has in place.

Like our web guy, he might know more about you than we do, we let him so that he can report back to us as to why he isn’t getting us as many leads as he used to. 

While we are staunch privacy advocates, there are times when even we may be forced to abandon these ideals. Just as major search engines face ongoing compulsion to provide data against their will, so too may the same occur with our website. Illegal activity or other serious acts or allegations could create legal liability for our website. In those cases, we reserve the right to share your information, or else may simply be compelled to do so by law. Yeah, so if the law is all like “WHO WAS ON YOUR WEBSITE LAST NIGHT” we’re probably going to comply with giving over any data we may have, but honestly, that seems like a pretty weird scenario.

On the other hand, there may be times when we would need to share your private information in order to protect our own interests. For instance, in cases of suspected or alleged copyright infringement or other intellectual property violations, it may be necessary to share personal information. Or like, maybe you were on this website and so was the person of your dreams, and you both emailed us at the same time, and then you agree to meet at the top of the seattle tower…Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan, what are you guys doing on our website again? Phone Tracking – We utilize Nimbata Phone Tracking. WP Smush – For some reason we’re supposed to have a bit about them in our privacy policy. They make our images smaller, but unless you upload images to us, which you can’t, you shouldn’t have to worry.
